Become confident enough to get started on exploring the world of Hadoop and Big Data.

As database professionals, we cannot hide the fact that Hadoop and Big Data are becoming more than just buzzwords. Hadoop provides a platform for storing and processing large data sets across a cluster of commodity servers and is solving real business problems that deal with massive amounts of data. And who among others understand data better than database professionals? In this session, we will learn the core components that make up the Hadoop ecosystem, some of the use cases for implementing Hadoop, deploying and administering a Hadoop cluster. We will also look at some of the similarities between SQL Server and Hadoop from an architecture perspective. At the end of the session, you will be confident enough to get started on exploring the world of Hadoop and Big Data.

You will learn:

  • Core components that make up the Hadoop ecosystem,
  • Use cases for implementing Hadoop
  • Deploying and administering a Hadoop cluster
